Adventures In The Field Day

Posted by Nicole at 10:05 PM April 12, 2007

Glastonbury, Reading, V Festival, Roskilde?? Who needs them when there are so many smaller festivals with perhaps an even better atmosphere. (I'm not really a big fan of the mega festivals) A while ago I read on the Dummy Magazine website about a new London festival called Field Day. It's taking place in Victoria Park (East-London) on Saturday 11th August.

It's the lovely people from Adventures In The Beetroot Field* who are behind Field Day. AITBF are doing a great job this year. Not only do they organise great party's in London, the Lock Tavern, which is part of AITBF, keeps growing and growing. With sister bars in Reading, Shepherds Bush and Bournemouth, and more to come in London so I heard. Wow! Before we know it AITBF is the biggest thing in the UK.

Anyway, Field Day. Acts that'll be playing or DJing are:
1990s, Absentee, Adem, Andrew Weatherall, Archie Bronson Outfit, Battles, Bat For Lashes, Ben Fat Trucker (dj set), Boys Noize, Caribou, Casper C (dj set), Electrelane, Erol Alkan (dj set), Fence Collective presents 3 Craws, Filthy Dukes, Foals, Four Tet, Fridge, James Yorkston, Jo Jo De Freq (dj set), Justice (live), Mac 3000, Matt Walsh (dj set), Matthew !WOWOW! (dj set), Metronomy, Miss Odd Kidd, Nadia Ksaiba (dj set), Naomi// (dj set), Pull Tiger Tail, Skull Juice (dj set), The Aliens, The Earlies, Yo Yo DJs, Young Turks (dj set), Zombie Disco Squad (dj set) and more to be announced.

There is gonna be a AITBF stage, a Bugged Out stage and an Eat Your Own Ears stage. I might be wrong though. Doesn't matter, it's the music what's important.
