And the winner of the Eurovision song contest is....
Sometimes it can be very easy to write a story and talk about two different bands who happen to have one thing in common. In May this year I finally saw Brainstorm live. I first heard about them in 2000 when they represented Latvia in their first ever Eurovision song contest. I fell in love with this band from the very first second they came on stage. Unfortunately they never came to Netherlands for a gig. I was therefore extremely happy when I found out about them doing a gig in London. It was just brilliant.
There is another band who I desperately wanted to see live for years and years. Yes, just as Brainstorm this band from Sweden called The Ark played a gig in the same venue where I saw Brainstorm. "En gång till! En gång till! En gång till! En gång till!," is what all those Swedish au pairs were shouting at the end of the gig. Yes, I wanted 'en gång till!' as well.
Ok, these two bands actually have three things in common. 1. I both like them very much, 2. I finally got to see both bands live this year and 3. Brainstorm entered the Eurovision in 2000. That was then. Next year The Ark will participate in the Swedish part of this annual song contest. Go Sweden! Go Sweden! Go Sweden!
