Alors Les Filles On Fete Noel?
"I am still young and I still have the energy, so why not!," is what I constantly say to people when they ask me about me going to clubs and gigs a lot. Last month I bought myself an early Xmas present. One return Eurostar ticket to Paris and a ticket for Alors Les Filles On Fete Noel? The French are going to rule next year, and with this in my mind I bought myself a ticket for what was hopefully going to be THE party of the year.
And was it the party of the year? Of course it was. If it wasn't I would have probably not written anything about it. Oh my god, it was fantastic. It was everything I expected it to be. If you've seen that Waters Of Nazareth release party video, you know what you could have expected. Everyone from Ed Banger and Institubes was there, including a few special guests like TTC (French hiphop act) and Thomas Bangalter (Daft Punk). The great man SURKIN did a storming set on his laptop. Sebastian was amazing. I can't remember that I have ever done a little bit of headbanging while being at a mainly electronica party. "Killing in the name of... now you do what they told ya..." Justice were great as ever. They really are heroes in France, so is Thomas Bangalter and TTC who performed live with Para One.
Besides the excellent music I heard till 6am, there was a lot of MCing going on, klaxons (not the band), free goodies (records, cd's, t-shirts) being given away on stage and so much more fun. Those French people do know how to have a great time in front of the stage. Isn't it strange that when you are partying in another city in another country and you bump into people you know from London? I am so glad I went. It was worth the being awake for over 24 hours. It was worth the waiting in the queue for an hour.
